Abstract:
This paper describes how the grid functions “Fault-Ride-Through” and “Active-Islanding-Detection” can influence typical grid-protection schemes. The functions are described in principle and usual parameters of the functions are discussed. A case study has been done to evaluate, how these two functions can be combined and which parameters have to be set to integrate these functions in typical grid protection schemes. The results of this case study are analyzed and grid-structure depending recommendations for parameters are given.
