Abstract:
In this work, we present recently developed radar cross section (RCS) and inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) image simulator tool called pRediCS. The code’s methodology is basically is depend on the applying geometric optics (GO) theory, launching of electromagnetic rays, applying ray-tracing and the physical optics (PO) for predicting the electric field values that scatterer from the object. This basic theory behind the tool is briefly summarized. The simulator is tested against canonical objects and benchmark targets that have been well studied in the literature. After the validity check of RCS computation accuracy, the code is used to calculate the RCS and ISAR image of electrically large and complex objects. Various results are presented.
