Abstract:
In this paper, the design of a 10 W load-tuned (LT) concurrent triband power amplifier at 1.5, 2.14 and 2.65 GHz using the harmonic tunable property of the recently developed multiband biasing network (MB-BN) is presented. Together with the multiband matching network (MB-MN), which consists of a single transmission line, the multiband biasing network provides a means for load (or harmonic) tuning for concurrent multiband power amplifiers (PAs). Consequently, better PA performance in terms of gain, output power and efficiency can be achieved compared with the previously reported triband class-AB power amplifier without load tuning.
