Abstract:
A geometry-based propagation model is proposed for wide-band polarized body area network channels. A conservation-of-polarization plane methodology is applied to the new geometrical BAN channel model to derive the channel polarization functions and the statistical characteristics such as the cross polarization discrimination (XPD) and time-frequency correlation function (TF-CF) for BAN channels in a purely mathematical manner. Comparisons are made with the XPD and TF-CF obtained from measurements, by using our model with appropriately chosen parameters, and show excellent agreement.
