Abstract:
We introduce the concept and simulations for an active transport of particles in single interface fluids. The active movement of cilia like flaps induces a fluid flow. The flaps are actuated by an interface membrane by deforming the membrane through pneumatic pressure from the backside. The membrane deflection affects the fluid and induces a flow. Particles localized over the flaps are pushed the fluid. By combining different asymmetric effects this multidirectional repulsion is supported by a preferred horizontal transport direction.
