Abstract:
This paper presents analyses of harmonic distortion of the Wien Oscillator, which is still employed for the analog synthesis of ultra-pure sine waveforms. These are needed, e.g., for the characterization of analog-to-digital converters. Analytical modeling considers nonlinear dependence of the elements comprising the oscillator in order to provide a metric for the sine-waveform’s purity that may be attained by the present electronic technology.
