Abstract:
A limitation for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems is the range ambiguity phenomena that appears when late time arriving echoes. The reflected signal corresponding to the pulse (n) is detected when the radar has already transmitted the next pulse (n+1). Thus, this signal is considered as an echo from the pulse (n+1). This paper investigates the opportunity of coding the transmitted pulse and especially by using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) pulse. The proposal abstract is to present our first studies about the simulation of an OFDM signal and the capability to achieve a high resolution SAR image by using the OFDM modulation of the transmitted signal. Thus, the opportunity to cancel range ambiguity is presented.
