Abstract:
An RTD (resonant tunneling diode)-based CNN (cellular neural network) cell for HLD (horizontal line detection) has been implemented for the first time. The device count of the fabricated CNN HLD cell is less than one third of that in the conventional CMOS-based topology. The RTD-based CNN HLD cell shows the operation frequency of 1.5 GHz. Both the reduced device count and high speed operation of the RTD-based CNN HLD cell have been successfully achieved.
