Abstract:
This paper illustrates both the detailed theoretical setup of the Passive Presence Service (PPS) based Capability Exchange Mechanism (CEM) in Peering Networks between IP-Multimedia Networks (IMN) and its architecture as well as its technical implementation. Moreover, a common model is proposed to handle different capability types according to their corresponding attribute value sets. The functionality is verified by evaluating capability exchange requests and responses towards the involved entities after discovering these entities, identified by an adequate tuple of information using the Domain Name System (DNS).
