Ultracapacitors - an intelligent combination with batteries in order to increase overall energy efficiency

Abstract:
Ultracapacitors have been introduced into various markets and continue to grow. The automotive industry is creating new demands for electrical power within hybrid, electrical and conventional cars with an increased level of electronic components. Ultracapacitor based concepts have shown positive results in efficiency and consumption. They are ideally suited to overcome the power requirements of vehicles. This paper presents advances in that technology with regard to automotive applications.
