Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to outline the problems associated with QoS on a time-critical IP-transport platform. The main focus is placed on QoS measurement for the application Voice over IP (VoIP). The new EIP-model for QoS of VoIP is defined, described in detail, implemented and compared in a representative study with other measurement techniques (PESQ, E-Model) used in the VoIP field. The new EIP-model yields convincing results; it is simple, fast and cost-efficient. These are distinct benefits of its practical applications.
