Abstract:
In this paper, the potential of very high resolution interferometric SAR imaging for urban building analysis will be demonstrated. Interferometric analysis based on very high resolution SAR images (down to sub-decimetre resolution) acquired over urban areas will be presented. The corresponding data was acquired in airborne singlepass and multi-pass configurations using the X-band SAR/GMTI demonstrator PAMIR of Fraunhofer FHR. It is shown that the advantage of single-pass interferometry for exploiting the third dimension can considerably be enhanced by using very high resolution multi-pass configurations with height sensitivities of up to 1000 deg/m.
