Abstract:
In this paper, we consider the linear and quadratic combination of the individual points of stationary phases of transmitter and receiver in the bistatic point target reference spectrum. The common point of stationary phase is determined as a second order superposition of the individual points of stationary phases of transmitter and receiver. It is considered as an improvement in the Loffeld’s bistatic formula (LBF), which works well in the scenario where transmitter and receiver contribute equally towards the azimuth phase modulation. In spaceborne/airborne configurations, there is a big difference in the velocities and altitudes of transmitter and receiver; therefore, different weighting is introduced in our earlier work for the Doppler modulation of each platform. Simulations are carried out to compare the phase errors of transmitter and receiver and focusing results of a point target using bistatic point target reference spectrum are provided.
