Abstract:
An amplitude modulated design pattern for stepped frequency synthetic aperture radar (AMSF SAR) is studied both in theoretical analysis and simulation evaluation to alleviate the calculation burdon in the signal processor and enhance the immunity to velocity error in this paper. With a new imaging algorithm for azimuth compression, the AMSF SAR achieves relative wide velocity error tolerance without motion compensation, resulting in better performance than rational SF SAR both in stability and fault tolerance.
