Abstract:
This paper outlines the applicability of microwave radiation for breast cancer detection. Microwave imaging sys-tems are categorized based on their hardware architecture. The advantages and disadvantages of various imaging techniques are discussed. The fundamental tradeoffs are indicated between various requirements to be fulfilled in the design of an imaging system for breast cancer detection and some strategies to overcome these limitations.
