Abstract:
The improvement of fuel economy and the reduction of harmful emissions are major requirements to future automobiles. There are a lot of concept proposals for environment-friendly vehicles: hybrids, hydrogen or e-cars. In either case electronics will play an important role to make sustainable mobility come true. On this account electrical engineering will rise to challenges in various fields such as circuit design, packaging, networking, modeling and simulation. In the following automotive electronic systems for environment-friendly vehicles are presented and further research areas are shown.
