Abstract:
In this paper, different approaches for the consideration of non-quasistatic and non-quasistationary effects to determine the electromagnetic behaviour of circuit geometries are being considered. As a starting point, an approach tracing back to the thirties is highlighted with special focus on its examination of the displacement current and on and its close relation to the well-known PEEC simulation method. The appliance of certain aspects of the presented approach to the extension of the Transmissionline Theory, usually not allowing the consideration of non-quasistationary effects like radiation, is being described. A discussion of different techniques within the presented methods for the consideration of retardation, as well as an iterative field solution approximation that illustrates which field quantities add to the quasistationary and nonquasistationary effects, is followed.
