Abstract:
This paper describes the wideband limitation of planar rectangular disc antennas and its downsizing limitation. Here, planar rectangular disc antennas such as a card type antenna are considered. The card antenna is composed of metal pieces and is designed by using Genetic Algorithm. On the basis of the parameter study, the limitations of the relative bandwidth and the lowest frequency of such antennas are clarified. It was shown by the simulation results that the maximum relative bandwidth and the lowest frequency of the planar rectangular disc antennas would be 177% and 0.44 f0, respectively.
