Abstract:
A 3D Time Domain High-Order Discontinuous Galerkin Finite Element Method (DG-FEM) for high frequency electromagnetic wave computations is presented. The method is introduced by highlighting the differences compared to conventional FEM, the FVM as well as to FDM and FIT. Time integration as the major bottleneck is identified and a local timestepping strategy is presented to resolve this bottleneck.
