Abstract:
The need for antenna models, both simple and realistic is more and more often expressed in the context of UWB communications. This paper addresses this topic through a statistical approach based on a drastic order reduction via a parametric modelling. At least two significantly different sets of problems arise: first, the statistical description of the radiation characteristics of a given antenna in its “application-dependent” environment; second, the definition of an entire class of antennas (isolated or not) and the “extraction”, from a representative statistical sample of antennas belonging to this class, of a statistical model called generator. The present paper addresses the last one.
