Abstract:
The paper focuses on the capabilities of a high resolution Ground Based (GB) SAR in the detection and estimation of deformations. A processing scheme, that relies on the Persistent Scatterers, is shown. The processor separates the Atmospheric Phase Screen (APS) from the deformation field, basing on the different covariance of the two processes. A preliminary validation based on Tessina test site, allows for an initial assessment of the APS and target’s decorrelation. These results are used as input to evaluate the accuracy achieved by such systems in the estimation of the subsidence rate.
