Abstract:
Plans being discussed for the Deformation, Ecosystem Structure, and Dynamics of Ice mission (Desdyni; http://desdyni.jpl.nasa.gov/index.cfm) mission, one of NASA’s first missions in response to the Decadal Survey of the US National Academy of Sciences, call for the integration of both a Lidar and an InSAR capability. Together, these instruments would satisfy the objectives of researchers studying vegetation structure and density (biomass), changes in ice, and deformation of the Earth’s surface.
