Abstract:
An azimuth invariant bistatic SAR focusing approach is presented in this paper. The focusing approach is based on the 2-dimensional point target reference spectrum derived from the principle of stationary phase as well as the bistatic geometry, termed as Geometry-based Bistatic Formula (GBF). This formulation is inherently accurate except for the stationary phase approximation. A numerical solution for a wavenumber domain focusing algorithm was developed. Focusing examples are given to illustrate the validity of this approach.
