The solutions for economic deployments of fibre optics in the public parts of the MDU’s in Europe

Among other challenges for FTTH deployment, one of the most difficult to solve is to find the most efficient and cost effective solution for the last dozens of meters. It has been proved that this short distance, more or less between the unbundling point and the first wall outlet in the dwelling represents 40 to 60% of the deployments costs. ACOME has studied the lump sum costs of several solutions for connecting the unbundling cubicle to the wall outlet in the European MDU's and presents in this document a comparison between these different solutions and a typical hierarchy of costs.
